Starting from April 19, 5 am this curfew will end on May 3 at 5 am. During this period all the essential services will remain open.
As the daily new covid cases mark crossed 10,000, the Rajasthan government has imposed a 15-day curfew in the state. The government has termed this restriction as ‘Jan Anushashan Pakhwara’ (Public Discipline Fortnight) which will continue until May 3.
The decision of this Fortnight curfew was taken after a number of meetings chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on the weekend. All the essential services like health services, mandis, groceries, dairies, and ration shops will keep functioning. Also, there will be no restrictions on fire services officials, public transport staff, sanitation workers, health workers, and medics travelling with identity cards. However, all the markets, restaurants, non-essential shops, and offices will remain shut.
The total number of active cases in Rajasthan currently is 67,135. 42 deaths were reported on Sunday, and the total number of death is now 3,151. Jaipur has recorded 1,963 cases, while Jodhpur reported 1,695 cases. Kota and Udaipur on the other hand have recorded 1,116 and 10,001 respectively. It is for the first time since the pandemic began that the daily cases have crossed the mark of 10,000 in Rajasthan.
What is allowed:
- Medical stores and shops selling medical equipment
- Pregnant women and patients for consultation
- Farmers can travel to the mandis and sell their crops.
- Processed foods, sweetmeat shops, and restaurants can do home delivery till 8 pm
- Ration shops will remain open
- Wholesale and retail shops selling food items, such as Kirana stores, mandis, fruits, and vegetables, dairies, and shops selling fodder can stay open until 5 pm.
- Fruit and vegetable vendors on pull carts, cycles, rickshaws, auto, mobile vans can work till 7 pm.
- Banks, ATMs, and insurance offices will remain open
- People travelling via bus, railway, metro, or airplanes can move around after showing their tickets.
- Distribution of essential items, such as food items, pharmaceuticals, and health equipment through e-commerce services
- Wholesale /retail outlets of LPG, petrol pumps, CNG stations, as well as gas can remain open till 8 pm
What is NOT allowed:
- Bazaars / Markets
- Schools, educational institutions and libraries
- Swimming pools/gyms
- Any type of social/political/sports/entertainment/academic/cultural/religious functions/gatherings
- Cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes, entertainment parks
