Lover of seafood? If you are, then head to the Versova seafood festival 2020 in Mumbai organized by the Koli community.
This festival is a three-day affair that takes place in Versova village, Andheri. And guess what, they have almost 45 stalls just dedicated to the variety of seafood prepared by over 100 Koli women who participate in this festival.
Get ready for some lip-smacking fishes ranging from Tuna, Mackerel, Pomfret, Bombil, Ghol, and Shellfish. These are either fried, grilled, or curried fish served along with Fish Pakodas, cutlets, and more. Not just fishes, they also have a great deal of Tiger Prawns, Crabs, and Lobsters.
These dishes are prepared in authentic Koli recipes using a majority of Kolhapuri masalas. Apart from the food, they also offer cold drinks, beers, and Sol Kadi, a traditional Koli drink.
The price range makes it affordable for everyone to visit. Dishes are ranging from as low as INR 50 and go up to INR 550.
Apart from food, the other attraction of the festival is the men and the women dressed up in the traditional Koli dresses, cultural competitions, dance, and music of the Koli Tribe to add zest to the festival.
