Events that are celebrated to create awareness are our favorite ones. And today, we have got one more. Karnataka is celebrating 'Mask Day' today i.e. 18th June 2020, to spread awareness about the importance of wearing masks to avoid the spread of Coronavirus.
This responsible and important step was announced by BS Yediyurappa, Karnataka Chief Minister. The celebration will take place at each headquarter and Taluka across the state. He further said, "The state government will celebrate Mask Day on June 18 to spread awareness about masks and its importance. The Mask Day will start from Ambedkar statue, Vidhana Soudha. Film actors and sports personals also will be present in the programme. It will be celebrated in all district headquarters and taluks as well."
Strict action will be taken against the people not abiding by the social distancing norms. Apart from this, Rs. 200 fine will be imposed on people found without wearing masks. Karnataka has conducted a total number of 44,000 tests with 7,100 tests for 10 lakh people.
We hope that the event is successful. What do you think about this initiative of Karnataka celebrating 'Mask Day' to spread awareness?
