Pride month is here, and almost everything is painted in the colors of the rainbow. And even Noida's metro station is all ready to be apart of the spectrum and support the Pride month. In good and progressive news, the Sector 50 metro station of Aqua-Line (Noida-Greater Noida Line) has been renamed to Rainbow Station as an ode to the transgender community.
Given the taboo surrounding the community, renaming the metro station, that too during pride month will definitely help the community gain the recognition they deserve. And not just the recognition, plans are to make this station dedicated to the trans community. More employment opportunities will be provided to people from the LGBTQ+ community and help them become self-reliant and make their way for inclusivity and participation in the society.
The renaming was in plans for a while, and the metro authorities received a bunch of suggestions, but Rainbow station captured the true essence of the community. And hence, the authorities decided to go with the name and announce the same in the Pride month to support the LGBTQ+ community.
