Do you know about the amusing story of the Navapur railway station? Navapur is a Taluka headquarters in Nandurbar district, Maharashtra. Though geographically, the Navapur railway junction is situated partly in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
To inform people about the divide, a bench has been placed on the platform. The bench's half side is in Maharashtra, pointing towards the state, and the other half of the bench is in the Tapi district of Gujarat, which points towards the state of Gujarat. So, if you are found drinking on the Gujarat side of the railway station, you might be taken into custody. Well, Gujarat is a 'dry state.'

If you need to buy a ticket from here, the ticket counter is on the Maharashtra side, whereas the train halts at the Gujarat side. Though it doesn't affect the people traveling at all. Funny enough, for the longest time, even the Western Railway travelers had no idea about the state divide of this ages-old built railway station.
The station was built when Gujarat and Maharashtra were not divided. Back then, the entire station used to fall under the side of Maharashtra. This is one of the lesser-known facts about the Indian Railways.
