The waves miss hitting your feet. People get summer-ready, as the beaches of Goa are all set to meet you again. Manohar Ajgaonkar, Goa tourism minister, has announced that Goa is all ready and reopens for domestic tourists from July 2. Currently, 250 hotels are allowed to open, albeit keeping in mind all the hygiene norms ordered by the government.
It is mandatory for tourists to pre-book their hotel bookings with the hotels that are approved by the Tourism Department. Only the tourists with a confirmed booking will be allowed to enter the state. Moreover, all the tourists willing to travel in Goa will require a negative COVID-19 report. If not, they will have to undergo a test in Goa and stay under quarantine in a state-run facility until their results come out.
"People who test positive will be given the option of returning to their respective states or staying back in Goa for treatment," the minister further added.
If you are planning to drive to Goa in your personal vehicle, you no longer require an inter-state permit. A simple self-declaration will suffice.
