Momos are universally loved by everyone. One bite of this dish is sure to take away all the worries. That's why we decided to write a letter to momos to extend our gratitude and express our feelings. Are you excited to read this letter to momos?
Dear Momos,
How do I even express how much I miss you! Going out with friends, almost every day to eat at least one plate of hot piping momos was like a daily ritual!
And oh the hot and spicy red chutney, with a blob of mayo used to make it a perfect treat to my soul.
You are one that can make people cry tears of joy and love with your soft fluffy texture, piping hot sight, and your taste just oh so delicious in every kind! Be it veg, chicken, cheese, steamed, tandoori, fried, or thousands of other variants foodies from Delhi and all over India invent, you never seem to disappoint me.
Every now and then I go back to the memories when the Momo wale bhaiya used to pick the fluffiest momos cooked to perfection from his steel steamer and put it on my plate. The taste of that plate of impeccably steamed Tandoori momos filled with chicken, tossed in orangish spicy gravy, was enough to make a dull day into a happy one.
There are only a few people with whom I share my favorite things. But momos you are too yummy to be shareable.
I can't thank enough Dolma aunty who introduced you to all of us in Delhi and making it a popular street dish in the city and other parts of the country. Now you are not a Tibetian dish anymore. With all the tadka, tandoori, and fried variants, you are all Indian.
This takes me on a trip down the momo-ry lane when I used to quarrel with my roommates during exams over a plate of momos, and ending up ordering for every kind available.
You are there for everyone who needs you. Just one order away. I mean how can you plaster a smile on all your loved ones' faces in a jiffy.
Momos, you are responsible for most of my happy moments, and part of my sad moments too. You were like love in the first bite.
Whether it is a beach or a mountain, a metropolitan or a village, a roadside stall, or a 5-star hotel. I’m never alone because of you.
You are my guilty pleasure- yesterday, today, tomorrow and for days to come.
I am glad my belly is full of love, of course, because of you Momos.
Love,
A Momo Maniac
