People will have to register themselves on the digital platform 'MahaSharad' to get tools.
To provide free tools required by differently-abled people, The Social Justice Department of Maharashtra launched a digital platform, 'MahaSharad' on December 12.
MahaSharad stands for Maharashtra System of Health Rehabilitation and Assistance for Divyang. The department, through the platform, aims to reach out to 29 lakh differently-abled people. The move came after observing that differently-abled people are not able to purchase tools due to lack of money. The department also noticed that tools such as Braille kit, hearing aid, wheelchair, artificial organs are essential for them. Though, after realizing its inaccessibility to people, the Social Justice Department launched the platform.
How will the digital platform 'MahaSharad' work?
The department informed that after the launch of this platform, people can easily list the required tools. The donors, who are willing to help, will provide the tools. However, people will have to register on the portal with valid credentials to get assistance. The department also told that many people are ready to help and donate for this great cause.
The platform was launched to mark the 80th birthday of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar. The mobile application for the portal mahasharad.in will be available by March 2021.
