Bengaluru sisters are providing online services to make elders "know it all" in technology

To teach the ins and outs of technology, these Bengaluru sisters are providing online services to elders.

To make elderly people technologically empowered, these Bengaluru sisters are providing online services with the name 'Easy Hai' for just Rs 150 per class.

Shreya Bajaj, 30, and Surbhi Bajaj, 26, from Bengaluru, realized that elderly people were struggling to cope with the usage of technology in the pandemic. Taking cognizance of the situation, the sisters started Easy Hai services. With the online service, the sisters are helping out people with understanding the usage of online grocery shopping and meeting apps. They are also educating them about fake news and WhatsApp forwards.

After the restaurant owned by the sisters in Chennai shut down, the sisters got in contact with their elder family members. Where some of them were confused about virtual meetings, some of them were not able to understand online transactions. The sisters soon realized that it was a major issue for elderly people. They put a post on social media answering the commonly asked questions. After the post received appreciation and people started coming to join zoom classes, the services expanded.

Helping hand for everyone

However, along with helping senior citizens, Easy Hai services is helping a lot of homemakers and entrepreneurs too. "It is a common perception that homemakers lag behind the time when it comes to technology. However, in my journey, I came across several entrepreneurs who were perfect in their work but were not aware of technical things. Realizing this, we opened the class for everyone irrespective of their age and profession," Shreya Bajaj said.

Easy Hai has been operative for quite a few months now, and it's also reaching abroad. On the journey so far with the participants, Ms. Bajaj said, "The best part about this journey is the blessings I receive from the people. It feels extraordinarily special to help someone with the knowledge I have." She also mentioned to us that she has learned a lot while teaching people.

Easy Hai conducts two classes every day from Monday to Saturday, where the cost of one class is Rs 150. Although, if a participant signs up for five classes, the amount would be 120 per class. Similarly, the cost will come down to Rs 100 per session if participants choose ten classes.
