World Quizzing Championship 2020 winner Ravikant Avva is an alumnus of IIT Chennai and IIM Ahmedabad.
Making the whole country proud, Ravikant Avva, a 43-year-old Engineer from Hyderabad, has won the World Quizzing Championship 2020.
The championship was conducted by the International Quizzing Association (IQA), where 668 people had participated from across the world. The IQA had organized a two-hour test inclusive of general knowledge and current affairs. Eight categories, including science, history, sports, art, and culture, were the background for 240 questions in the test. Mr. Avva scored 159 points that made him the second Indian citizen to have won the championship.
Ravikant Avva is currently working for an international company in Singapore. He has graduated from IIT Chennai and IIM Ahmedabad and has also been an alumnus of Columbia University. His father is a retired IAS officer and presently working as an Advisor to the governor of Telangana.
According to his father's statement to a news agency, Mr. Avva was an active participant in quiz for the past twenty-five years. He has also topped the WQC standings in the Asia-Pacific region in 2018 and 2019.
The second quiz Olympiad will be organized in November 2021 in Poland, where no qualification is required for participation.
