The upgradation of Mysore-Banglore National Highway 275 to a 10-lane Economic Corridor is underway, and it will be open for commuters from September 2022.
Over 45% of the construction has been completed, and the rest is about to finish by next year. The Economic Corridor will make travelling easy as it will take 90 minutes to reach Mysore. An estimated 38,000 vehicles move between the two cities every day. Presently, it takes three and a half hours to reach Mysore from Bengaluru.
Rs 7,400 estimated for upgradation of Mysore-Banglore National Highway
The project carried under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I will cost Rs 7,400 crore. The project also includes nine major bridges, fourty four minor bridges, four roads over bridges and road under bridges. The Economic Corridor will be of six lanes along with two service roads on either side of the Corridor.
Apart from this, food parks will also be constructed on both sides of the highway. The food parks will also have the facilities for commuters to relax.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari believes that the project would contribute to enhancing connectivity and economic growth of the state.
