The admirable spot of B'Town lovers, Madame Tussauds in Delhi, to shut due to the adverse impact of Coronavirus.
The ever enchanting "fangirl/boy moment" by standing beside the wax statue of the favourite stars comes to an end as Merlin Entertainment, the parent company of Madame Tussauds, Delhi, decided to exit India.
The General Manager and Director of Merlin Entertainment, India, informed about the closure of the outlet. The museum was already vacated a few days ago. And, the statues of the outlet will move to other cities around the world.
Madame Tussauds situated at Cannaught Place was closed since March 2020 due to Coronavirus. Since the street outlets are the most hit by the Pandemic, Madame Tussauds no longer remained untouched.
Operating costs and low maintenance forced the outlet to shut
Also, since the opening of Madame Tussauds in 2017, the outlet had not received as much popularity as the London outlet. Other contributors to the closure remained the problem of parking and the high price of tickets.
The outlet was also dealing with some major problems after it was temporarily shut. The wax statues that need regular maintenance were not being monitored. However, the company was still incurring a huge operating cost.
The outlet had wax statues of Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan along with Former President Abdul Kalam. The news of closure spread all over social media instantly and received huge "farewell" responses from the visitors.
