The Kolkata Young Reader's Tramcar was started by the West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC) and Apeejay Anand Children's Library.
Kolkata, aka the 'City of Joy', never fails to surprise its people. And on 14th November, the kids in Kolkata had a lot to celebrate. As they were surprised with the Young Reader's Tramcar, Kolkata's first library on wheels for young readers.
The city gifted the very first tram library to its young readers, where the kids of all age groups can pick and read their favourite books. The local artists have painted this tram in a beautiful bright sky-blue. And one can see the amazing artworks of kids reading on it.
The tram would run from North to South of Kolkata, and there would be no ticket for children below the age of 18. Even people above 18 can enjoy a ride with their childhood favourite books after paying the normal AC tram fare.
Kolkata Young Reader's Tramcar is an initiative by West Bengal Transport Corporation and Apeejay Anand Children’s Library team. And has books from different genres for young readers to encourage and inspire them to read.
