Hinjewadi bus stand, which is presently a bus shade, will be modified soon by PMPML.
After Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) decided to start ‘Design Studio’ to beautify their bus stands, the Hinjewadi bus stand is going to be the second one to be upgraded. PMPML has already modified the Deccan Gymkhana bus stand.
As part of the process, the bus stand will have an e-charging point and CNG filling station. The stand will also get modern signage boards and several other passenger facilities.
Hinjewadi bus stand sees thousands of passengers daily
Hinjewadi encounters thousands of passengers as the area is a hub of IT and industrial companies. However, the area gets filled with chaos as Hinjewadi just has a small bus shed, at present.
In 2018, the PMPML had got the 1.5 acres of land in Hinjewadi phase 2. However, the spot was used for parking of buses. The number of bus routes was also compromised since the area was fully developed. After the move by PMPML, the condition of the bus stand is expected to be better.
The PMPML is also looking for increasing their revenue as Coronavirus pandemic has lessened the number of passengers. However, it is determined by providing better facilities to people once the situation becomes normal.
