Who knows a time will come when gaming will be promoted at educational institutions! Well, it has arrived as IIT Bombay is going to have a gaming centre, as announced by the Minustry of Information and Broadcasting.
I&B Minister, Prakash Javadekar announced this "heavenly news" for gamers at a Maharashtra Game Project Design competition, 'Khel Khel Mein'.
According to the announcement, several important schemes and courses will be conducted at the gaming centre aiming to develop sports in the country.
IIT and the Indian context
The courses will revolve around VFX, gaming, and animation. However, these games will be developed for students considering Indian cultural ethos in such games.
Mr. Javadekar emphasized how mobile games are explicit, addictive, and violent due to which children develop complexities.
However, the new games created in India will take care of it, as announced by him since it will try to induce traditional values.
In a nutshell, the students will get to understand Indian culture and tradition through the games.
The step has been taken in line with the 'Make In India' initiative.
