Ten auto-ambulances in Delhi with oxygen cylinders have been launched to serve mild COVID positive patients free of cost.
Delhi is among one of the worst affected cities in India due to the second wave of Coronavirus. There has been a shortage of oxygen and ICU beds, along with the crisis of oxygen cylinders. However, amidst these unfortunate conditions, there is a piece of good news as 10 auto-ambulances in Delhi have been launched with oxygen support.
Autorickshaw-turned-ambulances were launched on May 4 by AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh along with TYCIA Foundation.
The drivers of the auto-ambulances will be wearing PPE kits and will carry the passengers to hospitals free of cost.
The main motive to start the service is to help the patients with mild symptoms reaching hospitals on time.
MP Sanjay Singh took to his Twitter to announce the launch of the auto-ambulance services.
He also appealed people to contribute for COVID relief resources as Delhi is facing shortage of oxygen cylinders, concentrators and plants.
The ambulance has an oxygen cylinder and a sanitiser available inside for the patients.
