Fighting tough with the second wave of the Covid-19 surge, these NGOs and organizations are providing food relief to the people in need. They are feeding the poor migrant workers, commuters, kids, and farmers. Help them help more, donate for a cause, and spread smiles by feeding the hungry stomachs in this crisis.
1. The Akshaya Patra Foundation
This NGO has served over 3 Billion meals up until now. Along with food relief, this NGO is also providing Happiness Kits to their mid-day meal beneficiary children across Bengaluru, Jigani, Hyderabad, Thane, Silvassa, Jaipur, Vadodara, Lucknow, Vrindavan, Guwahati, Ballari, Hubballi, Mangalore, Pune, Surat, Bikaner, Udaipur, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, and Vizag. They are also providing free food and water to commuters in different cities.

2. Feeding form Far
Another great initiative that has been feeding the poor and unemployed who are struggling to feed themselves during the lockdown. They have managed to distribute over 10 lakh meals to the needy since the first lockdown hit through cooked meals and ration kits. During the second wave also, they are all set to feed people. 3. Covid Meals for India by Saransh Goila
Covid Meals for India is an initiative by the talented chef Saransh Goila and is serving Covid meals for patients who can't cook or doctors who need daily meals. If you wish to help people in need with food and can cook, get yourself registered on Covid Meals for India here.
4. GiveIndia
Under their COVID Relief program, Give India is actively raising funds to quickly put up Covid care centers in Delhi and other metros, fill gaps in oxygen supply in hospitals, and provide meals to communities who are struggling to make ends meet.

5. Khushiyaan Foundation
This NGO is literally spreading happiness in Mumbai, Bangalore, Odisha, Hyderabad, and Delhi, with various initiatives like Roti Ghar, Naari Shakti, Beach Warriors, and Project Paathshala. Under their Roti Ghar program, they strive to provide quality food. At present they are distributing one-time freshly cooked meals to 2100 kids in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Odisha every day.

6. Khaana Chahiye
Khaana Chahiye is a citizen initiative to fight hunger in Mumbai and Thane. It was started in March as a relief effort during the COVID-19 lockdown with a pilot of 1200 meals on the Western Express Highway by Ruben Mascarenhas, Rakesh Singh, Swaraj Shetty, Anik Gadia, Neeti Goel, Shishir Joshi, and Pathik Muni. Since then they have served 46 Lakh plus meals, and are not stopping anytime soon. Currently, they are sharing 14,000+ meals daily.

7. Making The Difference
Making the Difference is supporting underprivileged children, providing medical equipment, feeding daily wagers, giving oxygen cylinders, and providing meals to quarantine patients. They have delivered 40,750 dry ration kits to the Mumbai dabbawala community and provides 100 tiffins each day to hungry stomachs in Mumbai.

8. Mazdoor Kitchen
Mazdoor Kitchen is a citizen-run voluntary initiative, that provides meals and subsistence to daily wage workers in North Delhi. In March 2021, they shared 6313 meals in total, and currently serve more than 400 people daily!

9. Uday Foundation
Uday Foundation is an NGO working on health, humanitarian assistance & disaster relief. They serve free food to families of underprivileged patients in the government hospitals and also for the children who come from far-off places to the Delhi hospitals for often longer treatments. They have aimed to provide 10,000 wellness kits to those without access and focus on feeding the needy. You can donate Rs.550 and provide food to 50 hungry and poor people.

10. Enrich Lives Foundation
Previously known as Annapurna Movement, Enrich Lives Foundation has distributed 8 Lakh meals, and 30 K ration kits up until now. In May, they fed 10,000 underprivileged individuals of Mumbai, and are currently distributing yogurt packs, and energy bars to children in slums. They were able to reach 20,000 children in just 2 days!
