With surging COVID-19 cases in the country, many COVID care centres have been opened. But, unlike other centres this COVID-19 care centre in Barmer was set in just 24 hours. Thanks to Lalit Kiri, a logistics firm businessman in Barmer, a new COVID-19 care centre with oxygen support and beds have been set in just one day.
A few weeks ago, State Revenue Minister Harish Chaudhary requested Mr.Kiri to set up a COVID-19 care centre at Sambhara urgently. He also asked him to do the same in just 24 hours. After thinking and planning for a while, Mr. Kiri made the necessary arrangements and started working on it. The crew did not sleep for the next 24 hours. They worked constantly until the COVID-19 centre was ready. Kiri's firm also contributed around Rs 1 crore to set up the COVID-19 care centre.
'I and my brother Pawan were a little skeptical to do the task in 24 hours. But, we accepted the challenge and pushed our expert team of over 100 people to complete the task. It has given us confidence. So, we would be happy if our efforts are able to save someone's life.' Said Lalit Kiri.
This COVID-19 facility is made by converting 8 bunkhouse containers. It has 10 oxygen beds,15 regular beds, and a 24-hour working OPD. A team of 100 people including plumbers, electricians, landscapers, and transporters was behind constructing this facility on a 15-acre of land. Patients who need urgent medical care and consultation can reach Bunk House COVID-19 care centre in Barmer.
