N Kalyanasundaram and Padmavathy, the couple from Chennai have been providing free meals to the underprivileged for more than 20 days now.
Even after selling snacks on a small cart, they have a large heart that is filled with kindness. This is about a couple from Chennai who runs a roadside stall of 'Bonda' and 'Bhajji' yet feeds people for free who have been badly hit by the second wave of Coronavirus and the lockdown.
The 56-year-old, N Kalyanasundaram and his wife, Padmavathy have been giving homemade food for the past 20 days. They provide the food through their pushcart, 'Shri Sabari Bajji stall and Catering Services' located at Bakthavatsalam street in West Mambalam.
The couple had to close their cart for 6 months in the first lockdown announced in 2020. While they tried to provide food to the poor during that time, they also kept an eye on the information and news related to COVID-19. By doing so, they got to know about the possibility of the second wave and started saving money for the emergency.
When the second lockdown was announced in Tamil Nadu during the initial days of May, the couple took out some money to help others. Since then, they wake up early in the morning and start cooking for those in need.
After preparing sambar rice, puliyotharai, and other varieties for lunch, they start preparing for dinner too. They provide upma, pongal and other items for dinner at around 6:30 pm and also give water bottles to people who come for food packets.
The couple expresses their happiness for being able to provide food to the needy and says that it makes them happy.
They, indeed, won our hearts!
