Himanshu Nagia's Emergency Response Vehicle carries various COVID-19 essentials like oxygen cans, cylinders, medicines, oximeter, water bottles, and even food.
In the last week of April, Himanshu Nagia was looking for an oxygen cylinder for one of his neighbors. He was travelling from East Delhi to Rajouri Garden and in between, he realized that he is not the only one going through the same. He saw many people who were carrying oxygen cylinders in cars, autos, and even cycles. This hit Himanshu. He then decided to dedicate his free time to help people and turned his car into an Emergency Response Vehicle.
This emergency vehicle has COVID-19 essentials including food and water bottles, which he has been giving to policemen and poor families. Not just this, he has also been delivering free medicines to many families. It should also be appreciated that Himanshu is filling all the expenses from his own pocket. However, he is now raising funds on Ketto for an ambulance to help in the transportation of COVID-19 patients. He plans to convert the ambulance later to an animal ambulance for helping the fur babies.
Along with helping people with his emergency responsive vehicle, Himanshu also visits Seemapuri Cremation Ground to volunteer for performing the last rituals of unclaimed bodies. He has helped 23 COVID-19 positive patients with transportation in his car as of May 20. For the first 20 days, he did not even see his family and stayed in his car. Now, when goes home he wears a double mask even when he is inside.
The 33-year-old Himanshu Nagia was himself COVID-19 positive with mild symptoms in the first week of April. But, after recovering from it he decided to be someone who helps people. He is definitely a COVID-19 warrior! Kudos to him.
