Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced that six-time world champion boxer Mary Kom and men's hockey team skipper Manpreet Singh will be India's flag-bearer at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics. Also, wrestler Bajrang Punia will be the flag bearer at the closing ceremony.

A government body in Chandigarh, The Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) organized a nukkad Natak at a wellness center aiming to spread awareness about the vaccination. The participants were seen in white and black clothes performing while people gazing at them.

Aishwarya Vijapurkar, a 12-year-old Kabaddi player, is forced to sell masks, cutlery items, garbage bags, etc., outside Kabaddi ground since her father, who earlier worked as a security guard, lost his job in the pandemic. Aishwarya gets up at 5 in the morning to play Kabaddi and then sells household items at around 8 am.

After her father died of COVID-19, Vaibhavi Khartamol, the 11-year-old girl from Dharavi, did not leave her mother alone and sits with her to help her in selling fish. Previously, her father used to run the business, but now it's the mother-daughter duo working to feed themselves.

5. Social activist from Hyderabad receives UK award for hunger alleviation
