1. New-generation Akash missile successfully tested by DRDO
Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) tested indigenous new-generation Akash surface-to-air missile and the man-portable anti-tank guided missile (MP-ATGM) with a 2.5 km strike range off the Odisha coast on July 21. Though the missiles are still under trial, they are likely to boost the strength of the Indian Air Force (AIF) once inducted.
2. Assam CM and opposition come together to encourage the state player representing India in the Tokyo Olympics
In a welcoming move, the CM of Assam, Himanta Biswa, and several leaders from the opposition came together for a bicycle ride in Guwahati to boost the morale of state boxer Lovlina Borgohain who is going to represent India in the coming Tokyo Olympics. The CM also posted photos of the event on Twitter calling Lovlina, Assam's daughter.
3. Archaeological works in Tamil Nadu led to a brick that might be 2,000 years old
As strange as it may sound, the archaeological works that were underway at Korkai, which is 623 Km away from Chennai, have resulted in a brick structure that is being said to have 2,000 years old. The brick has been found in the Tuticorin district.
4. Archery coach provides free training to underprivileged kids
Aiming to train kids, who can then go for securing medals in the competitions, the archery coach in Bhagpat, U.P. Manoj Chauhan is providing free training. After taking training for him, many girls have bagged medals at the state-level and national-level competitions. Manoj also, sometimes, helps the kids with the monetary problems so that they do not have to leave sports.
5. Coaching centre in Bihar prepares students for govt. exams in return for plant saplings
The coaching institute run by Rajesh Kumar Suman since 2008 is also called 'Green Pathshala' where Rajesh helps students prepare for various government service exams in return for plant saplings. Located in Rosera of Samastipur district in Bihar, this coaching demands 18 saplings as a fee from each student. The reason for asking 18 saplings is because a person inhales oxygen generated by 18 plants in their lives.
