1. Delhi village gets library for women
The Karala village situated in North-West Delhi, has established an all-women community library for the ones who prepare for the competitive exams. According to the Sub-District Magistrate of Kanjhawala, Saumya Sharma, the library has been built on priority to boost the spirits of women aspiring to clear competitive exams.
2. Jodhpur starts camel library for kids
Under the initiative, 'International Reading campaign 2021', the state education department and an NGO 'Room to Read' have joined hands to start a camel library for kids in the remote parts and villages of Jodhpur. The unique library is decorated with a lot of balloons and has nearly 1,500 books.
3. Women earn a livelihood from the used uniform of armed forces
The NGO in Delhi named 'Vardi Ka Samman' is helping a lot of women in Delhi to earn a livelihood through the used uniform of armed forces. The was started by Major General (retd.) Ashim Kohli. The women in the NGO are making items like masks, bags, pouches, backpacks, and bottle covers from the uniforms of defense personnel.
4. Raipur police take initiative to make city beggar-free
The Raipur police have launched a drive to make the city beggar-free by joining hands with the social welfare, women & child development (WCD) department. As per the plan, the police have started spotting the beggars. After finding them, they are shifting them to the government building to provide a counselling session for them. The police are also planning to start a rehabilitation center for the beggars.
