1. Haryana to get first sports injury rehabilitation centre
Harayana will soon have the first four sports rehabilitation centers at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Sector 3 in Panchkula. The center is expected to be ready before the Khelo India games which is going to be held in Haryana next year. The aim is to treat the sportspersons who get injuries while playing and need not travel to other countries for treatment.
2. Gujarat nurse to get Florence Nightingale Award
Bhanu Gheewala, who has been working as a nurse since 1998 in Gujarat will be given the Florence Nightingale award for her assistance in the first delivery of a COVID-19 patient. She had led the nursing staff in setting up the first COVID ward for COVID-positive mothers in 2020 at SSG hospital in Gujarat.
3. IIT Hyderabad inaugurates building made of bio-bricks
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) has inaugurated India's first building made of bio-bricks. The bio-bricks have been made of agro-waste. The building has been developed by research scholar Priyabrata Rautray under the supervision of Design department professor Deepak John Mathew.
4. Punjab man makes toys and mosquito repellents from cigarette butts
Twinkle Kumar, who belongs from Mohali, has made the toys, cushions, and mosquito repellents from the cigarette butts. Through his startup, he has employed local women in the collection and processing work of the butts, after which the residue of the butts is filled inside the soft toys, cushions and is used to make mosquito repellents.
