1. India gets its first indigenous cruise

IRCTC is all set to launch India's first luxury cruise, which houses restaurants, gyms, and other facilities. The cruise named 'Cordelia Cruises' will start operating after the pandemic and will take the tourists to some of the most popular locations of India, including Goa, Diu, Kochi, Lakshadweep Islands, and Srilanka. The tickets for the cruise will be available on the website of IRCTC.

2. Indian beaches get the 'Blue Flag' tag

Two more beaches of India, namely, Kovalam in Tamil Nadu and Eden in Puducherry, have been awarded the 'Blue Flag' certification. The tag is globally recognized, and this eco-label is awarded on the major criteria of environmental education and information, bathing water quality, environmental management and conservation, safety, and services on the beaches. Before this, 8 other beaches have already received the tag.

3. Delhi to open physical and mental health clinics in 15 schools

Giving a new wing to the Mohalla clinics in Delhi, the government will launch a pilot project on October 1 by setting up physical and mental health clinics in 15 schools. The clinics will have experts and counsellors for keeping a record of well being of students. However, the teachers will also be able to avail the facility when in need.

4. Sundarbans to get women tourist guides

The West Bengal forest department has selected four women who will become the tourist guides at the Sundarbans for the first time. All the four women guides will be placed on boats for Sundarbans, a tiger reserve with tourist guides. The reserve is a home for various species of animals and 100 tigers.

5. Bengaluru citizens come together to save the lake

To save and rejuvenate the Gattahalli lake from the land encroachment by private parties, a group of citizens in Bengaluru came together for the cause. The group, which included residents and not less than a hundred members was led by activist Captain Santosh, who formed it and initiated the opposition through online platforms.
