Hitchki Lower Parel

Bringing the glamour of Bollywood to Lower Parel, Hitchki offers Indian cuisine served with a filmy twist. The restaurant has successfully added a unique edge to every item on the menu while retaining the warm traditional flavours of Indian cuisine.

Hitchki's new outlet in Lower Parel takes you back to the sparkling period of Indian cinema. With vintage and Bollywood-inspired decor, this place has a warm and relaxing ambience. The dim wall lights, and decor items such as devices from the 70s, like the gramophone and the typewriter, give a charming vibe. The food also has a filmy touch and features some quirky names that are fun to read. We recently visited this restaurant and here's what we suggest.

Chaat shaat and more:

While glancing through their menu, we came across all the old school dishes that we adore, and so, we ended up ordering a plate of Tik Tok Chaat. This chaat was as fun as its name and came loaded with ghee-smeared aloo Tikkis, sev, and chutney! We loved how perfectly balanced it was in terms of spice and had a perfect amount of masalas.

From the Chakna section of the menu, we took a bite of crispy Stuffed Olives which were bursting with flavours. The outside poha crust was crunchy while the creamy herbed filling of cheese was just what we expect from a stuffed appetizer. Crispy and hot, these stuffed olives were served with Techa Mayo and we simply loved it. Also, it went very well with our mocktail 'Richie Rich'!

The Mains

We continued the filmy meal with traditional steamed Bao aka Til Chahta Hai Bao which was a delight to eat! Packed with stir-fried vegetables in the savory-salty & sweet Teriyaki sauce, these baos were served on a cute wooden swing and looked like 3 BFFs chilling and having fun. This quirky presentation was the star among all and made it to our Insta feed!

Since the quantity had been great throughout the meal, we were almost full and decided to finish our meal with Harry Pot Rice. These vegetarian pot rice came loaded with the classic hong kong sauce, dum rice, and five-spice bok choy. It was served hot and had a balanced flavour of sweet, smoky, and salty.
