1. Tamil Nadu imposes fresh restrictions

Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, Tamil Nadu has imposed a night curfew between 10 p.m and 5 a.m. whereas there would be a shutdown on Sundays. Restaurants, malls, and shops will also be closed at night and on weekends. Moreover, people will not be allowed to visit worship places on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And, only 50% capacity will be allowed for trains, buses, and metros.

2. Karnataka imposed a weekend curfew, extended night curfew

The Karnataka government has imposed a weekend curfew from Friday, 10 p.m. to Monday, 5 a.m. The night curfew has also been extended for more than two weeks in the state. In addition, theatres, bars, and malls have been allowed to function with 50% of the capacity. On the other hand, people arriving from Maharashtra,  Kerala, and Goa will have to show the negative RT-PCR report on the arrival.

3. Kerala woman enters Guinness World Records for Mehendi art

Adithya Nidhin, the 25-year-old from Kozhikode, Kerala, has entered the Guinness World Records for the most number of Mehendi designs done on the hands of people. Adithya managed to draw Mehendi on 910 hands in an hour at an event held at CMHS ground on New Year in Kadalundi. Before this, the record was held by Samin Hussain for drawing Mehendi on 600 hands within an hour in the United Kingdom.

4. Chennai airport ranked 8 in a global list for 'on-time performance'

According to Cirium, a popular aviation firm, Chennai International Airport comes in the eighth position amongst large international airports worldwide for its on-time performance. The company analyzed the online departures to 70 routes from Chennai airport for the list. On the other hand, the top three airports on the list are Miami airport in the USA, Fukuoka airport, and Haneda airport in Japan.

5. India's Iron Queen creates record by pulling bus by hair

A video is doing rounds all over the social media where the Iron Queen of Indian, Asha Rani, can be seen pulling a 12,000 kg double-decker bus of London with her braids. The act led her to enter the Guinness World Records back in 2016 which has been shared by a blog of Guinness Records. This achievement had also got her the title of 'Iron Queen'. As of now, Asha has 7 Guinness World Records for weightlifting.
