1. IMD issues an orange alert in several states amid a heatwave
As several parts of India observe a rise in temperature starting in March, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued orange alerts in states like Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, UP, and Odisha. The move has been taken as these states touched the temperature of 46 degrees even before May.
2. Haryana and Delhi to hold 4th edition of 'Khelo India Games'
Haryana is set to hold the fourth edition of the 'Khelo India Games' this year. The event will start from June 4, 2022, to June 13, 2022. Reportedly, it will be held at various places like Panchkula, Ambala, Shahabad, Chandigarh, and Delhi.
3. AC local trains in Mumbai to offer a 50% discount to passengers
In an attempt to attract more passengers to the AC local trains in Mumbai, the Railway Ministry has announced a fair cut of 50% for single journey tickets. The move has been taken after a survey with the passengers wherein they urged for a cut-down in fares.
4. AC buses from Mumbai airports start on Monday
As per the announcement of BEST, AC buses will run for South Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai from the airports in Mumbai from Monday. These services will be 24×7 in the city with a premium yet cheaper charge than other modes of AC transport from the airports. The average price for the ride is between Rs. 150 and 175 depending upon the location.
5. Priyanka Chopra's restaurant to serve Indian lunch thalis
Bollywood star and now an international icon Priyanka Chopra had started an Indian restaurant named Sona last year in the US. Now, the restaurant is going to serve Indian lunch thalis to people on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Currently, the eatery serves many other Indian dishes and snacks.
6. Indigo becomes the first airline to land using the Indian navigation system
Indigo has become the first airline to land its aircraft using India’s satellite-based augmentation system named GAGAN or GPS-aided GEO Augmented Navigation. The aircraft landed at Kishangarh airport, near Ajmer in Rajasthan, as a trial landing.
7. Uttarakhand set to hold Butterfly Festival in June
Uttarakhand is going to organize the three-day festival named 'Devalsari Titli Utsav' in Devalsari from June 4, 2022. Aiming to promote butterfly tourism in the state, the fest will feature butterflies, birds, and moth watching, along with butterfly photography and heritage walks.

A post on Twitter has gone viral since yesterday where a much more realistic painting of Maggi can be seen. It is made by a Chennai-based artist, Varuna Shreethar, whose painting of filter coffee has also gone viral earlier. The Maggi painting has been liked and appreciated by many users on Twitter.

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has laid out a plan for establishing engineered landfill sites aiming to ensure 100 percent scientific disposal of waste items. The civic body has worked on a proper management plan to support the idea. Currently, the nation's capital has three landfill sites at Gazipur, Okhla, and Bhalswa.
10. Kolkata driver feeds families of patients for free
A 50-year-old car driver from Kolkata, Partha Kar Chowdhury, feeds families of patients at state-run hospitals free of cost. For the last five years, he has been driving cars around the city and at night, takes up the chance to provide food to the needy. Owing to his work, he is also popular as a 'Hospital man' among people.
