1. Praggnanandhaa beats Chess World Champion again
This is the second time the Chess prodigy, Indian Grand Master Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, defeated world champion Magnus Carlsen. He beat Carlsen in the 5th round of the Chessable Masters online rapid chess competition on Friday, also inviting a lot of appreciation on social media.
2. Nikhat Zareen wins gold at World Boxing Championship
Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen has won the Gold medal at the Women's World Boxing Championship held in Istanbul. Zareen beat her opponent from Thailand by 5-0 in the flyweight category (52 kg). The 25-year-old has become the fifth Indian women boxer to win a Gold medal in World Boxing Championship
3. India tests first 5G network
The telecom minister of India Ashwini Vaishnav has successfully tested the 5G call at IIT Madras. He also mentioned that the entire end-to-end network is being designed and developed in India. As trials, he tested the first 5G audio and video call.
4. Andhra Pradesh to rename Konaseema after Dr. B R Ambedkar
The state government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to rename the newly formed Konaseema district as Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar Konaseema district. The headquarters of the district will be at Amalapuram. The government has also asked people for any objections or suggestions to the proposal after which the final notifications will be issued.
5. Dolphin safari to become part of Jharkhand's tourism
Good news for the people of Jharkhand and the ones visiting here, they will now be able to witness the Dolphin safari. The move has been taken to develop eco-tourism in the state. The state government has proposed two lengths of the river Ganges in the Sahibganj district for the safari.
6. Delhi couple distributes free sherbet to passersby
As North India is witnessing a heatwave for the past few weeks, a couple from Delhi, including YouTuber Tapesh Kumar and his wife, Prachi Goswami, who is also a pilot took on themselves to help the passersby by distributing free rose sherbet. The initiative came to light after a video went viral where the couple is seen distributing the drink.
