1. Droupadi Murmu takes oath as President
Creating history, Droupadi Murmu has taken oath as the 15th President of India. She is the first tribal woman to the highest constitutional post in the country. The ceremony was followed by a 21-gun salute and the address by Murmu at the Central Hall.
2. Neeraj Chopra wins silver in World Athletics Championship
The pride of India, Neeraj Chopra has created history again as he won silver in World Athletics Championship in Oregon. Moreover, he has become the first man and the second Indian to win a medal at the World Championships after Anju Bobby George, a long jumper who won bronze in 2003.
3. Kerala to shut down same-gender schools
In a historic step, Kerala is going to close down all the same-gender schools from next year. The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has recommended the closure and directed the government to implement the co-education system in all schools.

5. Mumbai to get cable bridge in Byculla
Byculla is soon going to get a cable bridge with an "iconic design" and selfie point just parallel to the already existing Byculla Road Over Bridge (ROB). A memorandum of understanding has been signed between BMC and Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation for the construction of these ROBs.

Japan has secured the number one position in the list of the world's most powerful passports that guarantee hassle-free access. India has secured 87th position in the list providing visa-free access to 60 countries, including Macau, Bhutan, Nepal, Indonesia, and more.
7. Drinking water fountains in Mumbai to get back
The old forgotten drinking water fountains called 'pyaus' will make a come back in the South of Mumbai as the BMC plans to build 18 such across the area while also creating a heritage tourist circuit of these structures.
