Many sequences of the movie were shot in Meghalaya. Shillong, Umniuh village in Ri Bhoi district, Cherrapunji, and Laitlum are some of the places where the shooting took place.
Dil Chahta Hai - Goa
Even after 20-plus years, this movie is still relatable and Farhan Akhtar was the writer and director of the same. The classic film was shot at different locations in Goa. The Chapora Fort, one of the most popular tourist attractions In North Goa, is now famously called Dil Chahta Hai Fort as it was the filming location of Dil Chahta Hai. Anjuna beach and hill-cut roads are other locations that were featured in the film.
The Sky Is Pink - Delhi
The Sky Is Pink is a tragic story of a mother and daughter. The film was majorly shot in the capital of India. Many scenes were filmed in various locations including the famous Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk was chosen because the director Shonali Bose wanted to show the culture and beauty of Delhi with the Jama Masjid visible from the terrace of homes.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag - Ladakh
This movie is based on Indian sprinter and Olympian Milkha Singh who inspired many. It was one of Farhan's most loved movies. The film was shot at various locations and Ladakh in India was one of them. The scene where Milkha Singh (Farhan Akhtar) is seen training was filmed in Nubra Valley Sand Dunes in Ladakh.
Toofan - Dongri, Mumbai
The movie revolves around the life of an extortionist who turns into a boxer. As the character lives in Dongri (Slums) the locations were also kept raw and realistic. Dongri and Nagpada in South Mumbai are places where the shooting took place. Local residents were asked to act in the movie as the directors had to keep the scenes as authentic as possible.
