1. Ladakh to host frozen lake marathon
For the first time, Ladakh is all set to host the frozen-lake marathon at Pangong Tso on February 20 this year. It is about to be held at the height of 13,862 feet and the army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) have already been assigned to work on the implementation of the same.
2. Part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway open to public
The Sohna-Dausa stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has been opened to the public recently and has reduced the travel between Delhi to Jaipur by 2.5 hours. Moreover, after the expressway will be completed, the travel time between Delhi and Mumbai will be 12 hours.
3. Lithium found in J&K
Lithium, which is said to be an important element for the manufacturing of electric vehicles and solar panels has been discovered in the Reasi district by the Geological Survey of India. According to the team, a 5.9-million-ton reserve of lithium has been found which is likely to boost the manufacturing of electric vehicles.
4. Karnataka's first MBA transgender invests in a night food stall
Sameekha Kunder, the first transgender who pursued MBA in Karnataka has invested in a late-night food stall in Udupi. The food stall has been opened by Poorvi, Vaishnavi, and Chandana, three transgender women who sell snacks and other food items from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m.
5. An Indian American named 'World's brightest student'
Natasha Perianayagam , an Indian-American has been named in the 'World's brightest students' list by Johns Hopkins, the U.S.A-based Center For Talented Youth. This was based on the results of above-grade-level tests including more than 15,000 students across 76 countries.
