There are various species of them that fly to India all year round. Some make their habitat in the chilly winters while some reside here in summer. 1. Black-crowned Night Heron in West Bengal
Black-crowned night heron is a native bird of Easter Europe. It is a long-legged, black-capped heron that thrives on aquatic vegetation, crustaceans, and small fishes. It usually lives in brackish or saline water bodies. These species migrate to India in the West Bengal region during the summer in the month of March and May.
2. Comb Duck in Chhilchhila Wildlife Sanctuary, Haryana
Comb Ducks are also known as knob-billed ducks because of their unique bill. These birds migrate from Madagascar to India during the summer and are usually found in Haryana. Chhilchhila Wildlife Sanctuary is one place to witness them. These birds feed on natural vegetation, grass, seeds, and small fishes and are found in marshy lands.
3. Blue-cheeked Bee Eater in Thol Wildlife Sanctuary, Gujarat
Blue-cheeked Bee Eater is a beautiful, multicolored near-passerine bird from the Bee Eaters family. It flies to India from Europe and other Asian countries between the months of March and May. This predominantly green bird with blue sides and a black eye stripe and a yellow and brown throat likes to stay in open areas as well as forests from lowlands up into middle elevations. They are found in major parts of India like Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, but you can see them in Thol Wildlife Sanctuary, Gujarat.
4. Eurasian Golden Oriole in Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary, Tamil Nadu
Orioles are a group of birds in the genus Icterus of the blackbird family. Indian Golden Orioles are found in India all year round, but the Eurasian Golden Orioles from the family pay their visit in the Summer. This golden-yellow bird with black wings and tail lives in deciduous and mixed woodlands. It can be found at the Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu.

5. Asian Koel in Pondicery
The Asian koel is a member of the cuckoo order of birds, the Cuculiformes. You will mostly notice them on trees with their sweet voices echoing in your ears during summer. They are bluish-black colored birds with red eyes and are mostly parasite eaters. They travel to India from Southeast Asia to breed. Pondicherry is one of the best places to catch sight of them.
6. Blue-tailed Bee-Eater in North India
Blue-tailed Bee Eater is another bird from the species of Bee Eaters. This colorful bird with shades of green, blue, yellow, and red thrives in natural forest and wetland ecosystems. It is seen in different parts of Asia such as China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, and migrates to the Northern part of India during summer.
7. Indian Pitta in Delhi-NCR
Indian Pitta or Pitta brachyura is a migratory bird with beautiful colors like deep yellow, orange, turquoise, and emerald green. Hence it is also called Navrang (nine colors) in India. This creature prefers to stay in broad-leaved deciduous or semi-deciduous forests as they are referred to as shy birds. Though Pittas are found in Delhi-NCR during the summer, you can also see them in Goa, Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh.
