Apart from the striking views of the real estate development that have been prominently visible in the entire Hiranandani estate in Powai for the last few years, the centrally-located suburb has, over time, also become a pioneer in providing quality recreational services to the residents. And hence, it is no longer unusual to come across various eateries, pubs and restaurants here. Episode One, a restaurant-cum-bar is also one of those places to offer mouth-watering Indian and international delicacies amid an impeccable atmosphere throughout the day and night.
Located in the Delphi building on Orchard Ave, Episode One is one of the few popular outlets on the first floor of the building. While the elegant yet fancy decor right at the gate takes you inside, the place opens up to give a bling of the 80's disco aesthetics with the disco sequin balls dating to the era of the 1980s hung above the DJ's area. To add to the vibe, the place adores the replica of items like Gramaphone with the walls embellished with a few portraits illustrating Englishmen from the British Raj. However, the space has been perfectly blended with modern elements, and quirky and colourful walls. There is also some freshness as the restaurant houses many green plants that overshine and peep through the wooden-themed furniture. The outlet also has a separate seating area surrounded by glass for those who might prefer to eat away from the music and the crowd.
Luscious food on the table
Along with maintaining a thoughtful interior, Episode One caters to its guests with an array of Asian, Turkish, Thai, and even Continental cuisines, out of which we started with the Truffle Lamb Slider, whose mushy meat in the slide turned out to be a slice of the heaven just like the Cheetos Crusted Chicken Slider that maintained a succulent taste too. To touch upon some more squashy starters, we hopped on for Chicken Dumplings with Smoked Sriracha, a nice and mild spicy dumpling to our taste, and the Crystal Vegetable Dumplings, another simple yet squishily good presentation.
The appealing appetizers already had us enough calling for the promising main course, which we had with the Piri Piri Chicken Pizza that remained authentic to the taste of its name. However, what impressed us more was the Assorted Pepper Fish, a Salmon fish that turned it to be delicious with the taste and richness of the fish. Not to be forgotten, we gulped in the food with a perfectly made Iced tea with an in-house preferred cocktail Brown Is Beautiful, a perfect blend of Whiskey, Cinnamon Orange Jam, and Ginger ale, aka the best-helping hand. In the end, we preferred calling it a day with a Biscoff Cheesecake or just the best way to end the meal!
Nicely carved space for all times
With the appearance of both a restaurant and the club, Episode One seems suitable for a fine dining experience at all hours of the day and a lively place at night. Not only does it provide a spacious seating area for coteries, but the food served here seems to have been made with precision with the highlight also being their large bar area that promises to be experimenting with the drinks. The only drawback of the place lies in the fact that it can only attract the nearby crowd in the Powai, especially on the weekdays. However, in a city that still finds its way to travel seeking good places to enjoy with their loved ones, Episode One - other than their patrons - might not be farther away and can surely become an approachable and preferable choice.
