Bombay Shirt Company and menswear designer Arjun Khanna are excited to announce a unique creative collaboration. The two pioneering home-grown brands are coming together to release various limited edition collections over the next year that weave a story steeped in history, ruggedness, timeless silhouettes, and iconic fabrics. The first of these, launched on 6 July begins and ends with the fabric for all seasons and occasions - denim.
This exclusive BSC X AK collection is an ode to meticulous craftsmanship and intricate design detail, transforming each shirt into a wearable piece of art. From the specific silai (stitch) detailing to thoughtfully placed metal hardware and distinctive washes, every feature is designed with purpose, celebrating denim’s rich heritage and timeless style.
Akshay Narvekar, Founder and CEO, of Bombay Shirt Company said, “When we were thinking of our next collab there was one name we kept coming back to - Arjun Khanna. His name and brand are synonymous with exceptional quality and a rich tailoring heritage. We couldn’t think of anyone better to bring a collection like this to life. His attention to detail, incredible insights and knowledge of how to work with a fabric like this are unparalleled. We can’t wait for everyone to experience this collection.”
Designer Arjun Khanna said, "Denim is a timeless fabric that is close to my heart. As a lifelong student of denim and a collector of vintage denim for over 3 decades, I knew this was going to be the foundation for our first Limited drop. Akshay, Neha and the Bombay Shirt Company team instantly resonated with what we envisioned.”
This limited edition collection includes 12 ready-to-wear shirts: 10 crafted in varying shades of denim and 2 in a unique fabric, adding an element of surprise. Each design is instantly iconic, seamlessly blending vintage aesthetics with modern versatility for the discerning man.
While designing this collection, the team drew inspiration from a diverse array of stories. From classic vintage military uniforms, safari-appropriate fabrics and silhouettes, the rugged masculinity of workwear immortalised in timeless Western films, the elegance of Japanese retro chic to the vibrancy of Bombay. All these instantly iconic looks are woven together by the common thread of denim, each piece in this collection tells its own unique story and each piece leaves a unique lasting impression.
