To celebrate 100 years of flying from India to the UK, British Airways has introduced limited-time menus featuring traditional dishes like phaldari kofta and bhapa doi on flights to the UK, US, and Canada. Passengers can also enjoy special chai from Twinings, Rajasthan's Godawan single malt, and over 100 Indian films as part of the inflight entertainment. Currently operating 56 flights weekly to London Heathrow from major Indian cities, the airline plans to increase this to 63 flights by Summer 2025.

British Airways is elevating its inflight dining experience with an exclusive centenary menu featuring a variety of traditional Indian dishes crafted by its catering team. Passengers can enjoy options like phaldari kofta with five spice vegetables and korma sauce, spiced grilled lamb rack with okra do pyaza, railway lamb curry with basmati rice, zafrani chicken served with coconut rice and saag makai, young jackfruit biryani, and bhapa doi with tropical fruits. Additionally, the airline is introducing a special selection of spiced chai from Twinings, capturing the essence of India’s beloved masala chai with aromatic spices like cardamom and cinnamon. To commemorate a century of service, British Airways is also offering Godawan, a single malt from Rajasthan, in its Club World (business class) cabin, providing a fitting toast to this milestone.

Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer says, “We’re proud to have a long history of connecting India and the UK. Our predecessor, Imperial Airlines, first flew to New Delhi in 1924 and since then, we’ve grown our operations from London to five major Indian cities. This centenary is a massive milestone for us and one that deserves a big celebration, so we’re thrilled to bring the vibrancy of these destinations to the skies. We very much look forward to welcoming customers on board to join in with the festivities and help us celebrate a century of flying the UK flag to one of our most important markets.”
