Local Samosa is back with this week's funding round-up. From September 30 to October 5, this week, many deals related to fundraising, startups, and acquisitions were observed.

As many as 21 Indian startups have raised around $92.63 million in funding this week. The deals include 4 growth-stage deals and even 12 early-stage deals. However, 5 start-ups kept their transaction details undisclosed. On contrary, last week,there were 29 early and growth-stage startups that cumulatively raised over $461 million in funding.

Waycool raises $12 Mn from Grand Anicut

Waycool, an agricultural supply chain firm from Chennai, has raised Rs. 100 crore (approximately $12 million) in debt financing from Grand Anicut. The debt carries an interest rate of 18% per annum with a tenure of 18 months. This is being referred to as the first major infusion of funds into the company in the last two years.

Basic Home Loan raises $10.6 Mn by multiple investors

The fintech start-up BASIC home Loan has secured $10.6 million, approximately, Rs. 87.5 crores led by Bertelsmann India Investments (BII), along with CE-Ventures in its Series B round. On the other hand, existing investors like Asish Kacholla also invested and increased their stake in the company. The round also saw participation from existing investors like Gruhas, Let’s Venture, 9Unicorns, and Venture Catalysts.

Troo Good secures Rs. 72 crore by multiple investors

Troo Good, a millet-based snack brand, has raised Rs. 72 crore, which is approximately $8.6 million from Oaks Asset Management. In addition, even Puro Wellness and V Ocean Investments participated in the round. Reportedly, the company will use the funds to meet its working capital requirements. 

Mstack raises $40 Mn by Lightspeed and Alphawave

Mstack, the cross-border speciality chemical manufacturing platform has secured $40 million in its Series A funding round, which was co-led by Lightspeed and Alphawave along with a debt from HSBC Innovation Banking. The funds will be used towards expanding the business in the Middle East, Latin America and Asia while the presence is reinforced in the United States.

str8bat raises $3.5 million from multiple partners

The sports technology company str8bat has raised US Dollars 3.5 million, approximately, Rs. 29 crore in a funding round led by Exfinity Venture Partners, with Shailesh Ghorpade, Founding Managing Partner of Exfinity, taking the board position. Other financers like TRTL, Eternal Capital, VCats group, Techstars and SucSEED Indovation Fund also took part in the round.

  • Adda247 acquired PrepInsta, a placement preparation platform wherein the financial details are not disclosed.
  • Pluckk purchased a nutrition brand Upnourish in a USD 1.4-million deal.
  • Capital IQ took over Karman Drones at Rs. 75 crore (around $9 million).
  • UST acquired Information Services Group’s automation unit for Rs. 226 crore.
  • Rakesh Gangwal the co-founder of IndiGo, purchased 3.6 million shares of Southwest Airlines.
  • Former Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has acquired ownership stakes in America's National Cricket League (NCL), which is expected to give a big boost to the sport in the United States.
