Nakki Lake, nestled in the heart of Mount Abu, is a man-made wonder surrounded by picturesque hills and lush gardens. Legend has it that the lake was dug out by gods using their nails (nakki), giving it a mythological significance. During the monsoon, the surrounding area bursts into vibrant greenery, making it a serene spot for boat rides and leisurely strolls. The lakefront is dotted with markets and eateries, offering a perfect blend of nature and local culture.

Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary

Spread over 288 square kilometers, the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is a biodiversity hotspot. The peak is home to the Guru Dattatreya Temple, dedicated to the Hindu deity Dattatreya, who is believed to be an incarnation of the trinity Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Dilwara Temples

Dilwara Temples, a group of five Jain temples, are renowned for their exquisite marble architecture and intricate carvings. These Jain temples were built by VastapulTejpal who was the minister of Bhima, Chalukyas of Gujarat ruler, between the 11th and 13th centuries, these temples are considered masterpieces of Indian art and architecture. Each temple has its unique charm, with detailed carvings depicting scenes from Jain mythology. 

Trevor’s Tank

Trevor’s Tank, also known as Trevor’s Crocodile Park, is a man-made reservoir and picnic spot surrounded by dense forests. Built in 1897 AD, by the British engineer Trevor, it serves as a habitat for crocodiles, making it a unique attraction. The area is also rich in birdlife, making it a favourite spot for bird watchers. 

Achalgarh Fort

Achalgarh Fort, built by the Paramara dynasty in the 9th century AD and later renovated by Maharana Kumbha of Mewar in 1452, is a historical gem offering stunning views of the Aravalli Range. Within the fort complex lies the Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, featuring a unique Shiva Linga that is said to rest on a natural pit that is believed to be infinite. The fort's ancient architecture makes it a fascinating destination for history buffs.

Toad Rock

Toad Rock, a massive rock formation resembling a toad, is one of Mount Abu's most iconic landmarks. Located near Nakki Lake, the rock offers a short, easy climb that rewards visitors with spectacular views of the lake and the surrounding hills. Here's a 3-day itinerary for experiencing the best of Mount Abu in the monsoon season, complete with top attractions, nature trails, and shopping spots.

Day 1: Arrival and Exploration

Morning: Check into your pre-booked hotel. Some popular choices include Hotel Hillock, Cama Rajputana Club Resort, and Palace Hotel (Bikaner House). Enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel to start the day. 

Mid-morning: Then, begin your trip with a visit to the iconic Nakki Lake. Followed by, just a short climb, Toad Rock is a large rock formation resembling a toad. 

Afternoon: Explore the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary. Next stop to a popular picnic spot, Trevor’s Tank. 

Evening: Conclude your day at Sunset Point, where you can witness a breathtaking sunset over the hills. After that stroll, go through the Mount Abu Market, where you can shop for souvenirs, local handicrafts, and traditional Rajasthani clothing.

Day 3: 

Morning: Begin your last day with a visit to the Brahma Kumaris' Spiritual University for a peaceful meditation session. After that, explore the Arboretum, a beautiful botanical garden.

Mid-morning: Visit Adhar Devi Temple which is carved out of a rock. Nearby, visit Shankar Math, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Afternoon: Have lunch at Jodhpur Bhojanalaya. After that head to Gaumukh Temple, a tranquil spot for a spiritual experience. Complete the afternoon at Bharat Mata Mandir, dedicated to Mother India.
